FAQ

  1. Election Day is November 3, 2026. Polling locations are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Anyone in line when the polls close is allowed to stay and vote. Individuals arriving after the polling place has closed will not be allowed to vote.

  2. Request a Kansas absentee ballot here. All Kansan voters can apply for an advance ballot/absentee ballot. The last day to request an advance ballot is October 27, 2026 (7 days before the election).

  3. If you are registered to vote, find your polling place here. You can only vote at your assigned polling place.

  4. You’ll need one of the following forms of photo identification:

    • Driver’s license or ID card issued by Kansas or another state
    • U.S. Passport
    • U.S. Military ID
    • ID card issued by a Native American tribe
    • Employee badge or ID issued by a government office
    • Student ID card from an accredited postsecondary education institution in Kansas
    • Concealed carry license issued by Kansas or another state
    • Public assistance ID card issued by a government office
  5. If you moved to a new address in the same county, update your information as soon as possible. If you move after the registration deadline, you may vote at the precinct assigned to your old address, but you will be required to complete a new voter registration application.

If you moved to a new county in Kansas before the registration deadline, you must complete a new voter registration application. If you move after the registration deadline, you can still vote at the precinct assigned to your old address, but you will be required to complete a new voter registration application.

If you move to Kansas from another state, register to vote in Kansas as soon as possible. If the deadline to register has passed, you may vote a president-only ballot at your local election office by noon on the day before the election.

  6. Every polling place must have an accessible voting system, including audiovisual accessibility.

Ballot accessibility: Each polling place must have a fully accessible, HAVA compliant voting machine that allows voters with disabilities to vote independently. Disabled voters may request assistance from a friend, family member or companion or seek assistance from a poll worker.

Polling place accessibility: Polling places are public accommodations and must be accessible for all voters.

English as a second language: Currently, five counties in Kansas provide required alternative language assistance: Finney, Ford, Grant, Haskell and Seward Counties.

  7. See a personalized ballot for your voting location.

  8. There are plenty of resources to help you relay your voice this Election Day. Check out the Kansas official voting home page or find more digestible information from Vote411 or The League of Women Voters.
